I’ve just finished judging my first writing contest. It was an experience. I was impressed by the entries. There are many talented people out there. Judging took on an extra element for me because my computer crash and I had to rejudge two entries. I hope my next step into judging starts with less problems. I do know I learned more about the writing process from the experience. I also liked the fact I was giving something back after the number of times I’ve been judged.

I’ve been working all this week on promotions. In some ways it is a lot of fun to make contact with people that are excited and interested in Nick’s New Heart. At other times it can be very disheartening because they just don’t get the whole idea. If I send out 30 emails I might get one person to respond, but the odds are better with promotions than they ever were with being published so I guess I’ve little room to complain. I’ll keep going, because that one big thing that sells piles of books maybe just ahead.
