Day at the Florist

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Nick went to PT early this morning. He thinks there is nothing to it until he is home for about 30 minutes and discovers he is tired. He didn’t have time for a nap because we had to go to the florist with Mary Beth to see about flowers for her wedding. He stayed with us for about 20 minutes before he decide to walk around town instead of listening to us talk about nosegays. I believe if we went to the florist regularly Nick might encourage Nick to get well faster. He did take a long nap when we got home.

Slow Sunday

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

It has been a nice slow, as it should be, Sunday. Church, and then the guys went to see a movie while I stayed home to get some writing done. When they returned we went into regular mode of TV and relaxing. Slow days are appreciated at our house after the last few weeks.

Yesterday

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

I didn’t post yesterday because our family worked at an event at church until late last night. Nick spent the night with his grandmother again. He is coming home today and will go with us to the church tonight. He seems to be doing well but needs to gain weight badly.

Nick has left the House

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

After going to physical therapy this morning Nick decided it was time to get out of the house for a couple of nights. He called my mother and asked to come to her house. He packed up his IV meds, regular meds, and wound supplies. He made arrangements with Drew to drive him to East Rome to meet Mother. He is tired of being sick and tired of my nursing. It will be great for both of us to get away from each other for awhile. I know Mother will see to it that he eats well.

Nick will be going to PT three times a week for a few weeks. They asked him what he wanted to get out of coming to PT and he said, “I want to stand up straight.” I think that will be nice also. He has been sick for so long he needs to get his strength back in all areas.

Another Day

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Nick had a wound care appointment this morning at Kennestone Hospital. The nurse said his bottom looked much better. She removed the old skin. She thought the wound was improving. Because Nick needs the area to heal quickly she wanted to do something more aggressive.  Using a sound wave machine she worked on the area. It was something I’d not seen or heard of before. The nurse said it would get deep in the tissue and encourge new skin. Nick complained some when he sat down for an hour or so afterwards. The trip made Nick tired so he had a long nap after we got home. All in all a good day.
