Another Day

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Nick went to PT this morning. This afternoon he helped Drew work on a go-cart that he is building. Nick got bored this evening and drove off for awhile. He said he’d be back for a TV show later.

Hot Day

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

I spent most of the day writing so Nick and I didn’t get out until later in the afternoon. We ran out of bandages for his bottom so I spent some time calling around to find them. I got some ordered and found enough in town for him to get by with untill the other arrive. We went to pick up Zach from school and to do some walking. I did most of the walking because it was pretty hot. Nick and the dog mostly sat and watched me. They did about a lap. We will try it again tomorrow.

Looking for Something to Do

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

I went to work today which left Nick at home by himself. He went to PT and afterwards he made a couple of stops. By 12:30 he had found me. He was bored. I had him walk the track a couple of times which not only killed some time but was also good for him. He can go around about 4 times but his legs are weak after that amount. Tomorrow I’m going to get him some paint and have him paint the handrails on the front of the house. I’ve plenty of daily little jobs he can do. Off to work he goes.

Nick and Drew went to the race at Talladegua yesterday. It was a beautiful day to be out. I reminded Nick to be sure to use sunscreen. They got to see the big wreak in the 7th lap but missed the big high flying one because they were shopping for T-shirts.

Mary Beth and I gave a Bridesmaid Luncheon yesterday and I had fixed chocolate dipped strawberries to look like they were wearing tux. The guys took some of them to the race with them. Does that sound like there is a story there? Race fans with elegant food. Maybe I’ll write an article about that concept.

Check out  below and give it some thought.

Yeah…our Georgia donor registry is finally on line.  As you know Georgia is now a first person consent state, which means legally if you have stated on the registry you wish to be an organ or tissue donor your wishes may be carried out.   LifeLink at this time, will still talk with your family so it is still important for them to know your wishes too.  Please take a few minutes to sign up today and pass this on to everyone in your address books.

Return to Work

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

I went back to work today. The home health nurse came to change Nick’s pick-line dressing and then he went to PT. After that he picked up some meds and had the oil changed in Andy’s truck. Before lunch he came by to see me. I sent him to the grocery store. I’m having an English tea Sunday. He had to find some items he wasn’t use to looking for. He made over 15 calls to me to make sure he was getting the right things. It got funny after awhile. He ended up doing a good job and it took long enough for him not to be home by himself long.
