Today is mine and Andy’s 27 wedding anniversary. We have a  lot of water that has flowed under the bridge of life we are crossing together. A friend ask me what I thought made our marriage last so long. I told her I really love my husband, plus I like him. Another thing is that I was determined to make it work. Divorce was not an option. Andy said it was commitment. It hasn’t always been easy, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. The plan is for another 27 at least. 

I subed  in a class that had a student teacher yesterday. The thing most interesting about it is that I had been his substitute teacher when he was in high school. The students are starting to circle around on me. The student teacher did an excellent job. He will make a good teacher.   

Yesterday was the 25 anniversary of the first pediatric heart transplant. The was done on a baby with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, which was Nick’s heart problem. The transplant was done with a baboon heart. It was very controversial but it was the first time people started thinking about saving babies. It wasn’t the best football weekend at our house. Cass High did win but our Auburn Tigers and the Atlanta Falcons didn’t fare so well. I wish it didn’t matter so much to the people in my house but we do take in seriously. Now, we are just looking forward to next weekend. We hope for better results.  

My editor asked me a number of weeks ago to check into literary agents that might be good to send Nick’s New Heart  screenplay to. I worked at trying to find agents I thought were good, which is hard to determine. I had to put off doing that because of other deadlines but yesterday I finally reported back to her with a list. I was tickle to mark that off my list. I how have to get some workshop stuff in the mail, and have my pages and synopsis ready to send in by next weekend.
